Synopsis
A movie that is often considered the first Mexican film noir, and, in fact, one of the first noirs made anywhere. Gabriel Figueroa’s extraordinary cinematography lights the way for this savage, political tale set in Mexico City.
Programmed and hosted by Charles Ramírez Berg, whose latest book is “The Classical Mexican Cinema: The Poetics of the Exceptional Golden Age Films.” He will introduce the screening and participate in an audience discussion afterwards.
Presented by the Austin Film Society – a non-profit organization that promotes the appreciation of film and supports creative media production.
