It’s been several days of cross-country for Miguel and his father. Despite walking deep into the wild, they can’t find any animals to hunt. Exhausted by the boorish demands of his traveling companion, Miguel enters the forest during the night, finding a strange monster that dwells there. The boy decides not to reveal the episode and hide the fear he begins to experience. Miguel is torn between his deepest fears and the desire to be a “real man” as dictated by his father, putting his own identity and nature in question.
