A woman fights a losing battle: one can’t be poor and still want to stay among the familiar, the everyday, where one was born and raised. She can only observe, with a mix of confusion and rage, how her community is becoming deserted and sad – its children displaced to far off, ugly places. NADIE ESPECIAL is about any place where the cards seem to be forever stacked against the powerless. But with great lyricism, it also shows the resolve of some individuals to challenge their fate and restore their dignity, even if that decision furthers their isolation as they are pushed toward a last frontier. The short film was the Grand Jury Winner at the 28th Mar del Plata International Film Festival and has screened at prestigious festivals world wide.
