Synopsis
Taking its inspiration from a feminist sci-fi short story written in Bengal in 1905, Inés sets out on a voyage of discovery around India in search of Ladyland, the Utopian land of women. Sultana’s Dream has 3 distinct animation styles woven together.
Indie Meme is a non-profit in Austin, TX that has been engaging, educating, entertaining, and bringing together different communities to promote cross-cultural understanding and help build a globally conscious community through screening independent films. We offer screenings of carefully curated independent cinema – feature films, documentaries, short films and so on from South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, & Iran). All our screened films are subtitled in English. Our aim is also to connect the audience with the makers of the films and celebrate them for their creative genius. Towards that end, we usually follow our screenings with an interactive session with the filmmakers/actors either with an opportunity for a face-to-face meetup or connect with them via teleconferencing.
