Biography(s):
Quique Aviles is a DC-based community scholar, filmmaker, teacher, poet, and performer. Originally from El Salvador, Quique has dedicated his life to documenting the stories of everyday people from immigrant, Black, and poor communities and bringing them to life through poetry, performance, and film. In addition to Co-Directing Las Muertes Más Bellas del Mundo, Quique and Ellie collaborated on La Manplesa: An Uprising Remembered which screened at festivals and was broadcast on PBS’ America ReFramed.
