Synopsis
From the Colombian coast to New York City, CATAPUM: NOWHERE TO FALL tells the powerful story of three Afro-descendant women from three generations, united by their connection to Bullerengue—a vibrant, ancestral music tradition. Through the music, they find strength, healing, and a space to celebrate life. As their individual journeys intertwine, they form a collective memory that offers a powerful narrative of the Colombian armed conflict that speaks to the universal, reconciling power of music.
The CineNoche film series is presented in partnership with Violet Crown Cinema. Violet Crown is committed to celebrating and preserving the magic of cinema. From new releases to timeless classics, they present films from across the entire cinematic spectrum to bring extraordinary films to the screen and to the community.
This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
