Synopsis
El Lado Salvaje (The Wild Side) follows the inspiring journey of Ernestina Ramírez, an 83-year-old world champion in the 100, 200, and 400-meter races. Alongside fellow master athletes, she shows that life remains a path of discovery, where physical training and a resilient mindset bring renewed purpose. This film offers an intimate glimpse into lives defined by courage and passion, capturing the powerful resilience of the human spirit.

Mariana Paredes Peláez is a Mexican film producer, scriptwriter, director, and editor. She is best known for the documentary “The Wild Side” shot in México-USA-Canada. She wrote the film script “Unbeliever’s Ballad,” 1st place winner of the Garfio’s script award. Since 2007, she has worked as producer-director at Malakita Producciones, Art, and Visual Communication. She did a master’s at The London Film School where she directed and produced the films: “Atomic Theory,” “Someone once told me,” and “Lunch Break”. She graduated from Iberoamericana University where she studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, and she shot short films like: “Israel’s Charms,” “Goodbye,” and “Grades.”
