Emergente Youth Film Project creates space for youth to explore storytelling through film, culture, and lived experience. By nurturing creative skills and cultural expression, the program uplifts emerging voices and invites young filmmakers to see their stories as powerful and worthy of being shared.
Cine Las Americas provides free, community-based workshops that introduce young people to filmmaking, media literacy, and creative storytelling. Through partnerships with local schools, artists, and community spaces across Austin, these programs create supportive environments where youth can explore their voices, develop technical skills, and build confidence in sharing stories rooted in their lived experiences.
A full-day celebration dedicated exclusively to filmmakers under the age of 19. Showcasing an inspiring selection of youth-created films from around the world, the festival brings powerful young voices to the big screen with the recognition and care they deserve. Free and family-friendly, the event awards both a Jury Prize and Audience Award for Best Emergente Youth Film, honoring the creativity and vision of the next generation.
Your support helps provide free workshops and festival opportunities for young filmmakers to share their voices.
