DIRECTOR(S) BIOGRAPHYCarolina Markowicz is a screenwriter and director based in São Paulo, Brazil. She has written and directed two feature films and six short films selected to around 400 festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, SXSW, and San Sebastián, winning over 100 awards. She is co-creator of the Netflix series Nobody is Looking, winner of the International Emmy in 2020. Carolina was one of the 10 emerging filmmakers invited to be part of TIFF Talent Lab. She was also selected to be a part of Berlinale Talents and to Locarno Filmmakers Academy, where she was lauded by Indiewire in a program that showcased “Some of the World’s Most Exciting New Filmmakers.”
