ICAROS explores the spiritual universe of indigenous Shipibo who live by the Ucayali River, one of the main tributaries of the Peruvian Amazon. Young Mokan Rono, mentored by a wise shaman and by his mother, a master healer, he sets outs on a journey to discover the ancestral knowledge of the “ayahuasca.”

About the director

- DirectorGeorgina Barreiro was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires. She edited several documentaries for Canal Encuentro, INADI, Canal A, Proa TV, and the Discovery Channel, and has worked both as editor and director in official audiovisual projects for the National Library of Argentina. She has worked both as an editor and producer in THE OCTOBER SILENCE (2010). ICAROS is her feature directorial debut.
