Sofía is in her mid 30s, has two beautiful children and is a struggling actress in provincial Valdivia. A strict vegetarian, she decides to get rid of her phone, read nothing and watch no TV for a year. This radical plan should provide her with some peace. Inspired by her example, her dad leaves her mom after 35 years of marriage, which shocks the entire family. To complicate things, Sofía’s older sister is back from Europe with her husband and newborn baby. Sofía’s daughter is obsessed with the idea of eating meat and teaching her younger brother to read, using violent methods to do so. As if this were not enough, Sofía discovers a dark secret about her father that leaves her feeling as if she has lived in a fictional family world.
