Daniel is an exceptional footballer, a striker. Julio's the team's captain, a born leader. They were raised as brothers and play football in their slum, La Ceniza. Daniel dreams to play professional football while Julio feeds the family with dirty money; he has no time to dream. The opportunity of their lives arrives when a football scout invites them to tryout with the city's best team: Caracas Football Club. But tragedy strikes them. They must choose, on a dirty football pitch, what is more important: family, revenge or the dream of their lives.

 

 

Daniel es un delantero excepcional, un fenómeno. Julio es el capitán del equipo, un lider de nato. Ambos son hermanos de crianza y juegan fútbol en su pequeño barrio, La Ceniza. Daniel desea con todas sus fuerzas juar a nivel profesional mientras Julio mantiene a su familia con dinero sucio; no tiene tiempo de soñar. La oportunidad de sus vidas llega cuando un cazatalentos los invita a unas pruebas para el famos equipo de la ciudad: el Caracas Fútbol Club. En ese momento una tragedia los sacude y ellos deben decidir, a patadas y sobre una cancha de tierra, qué es más importante: la union de la familia, el sabor de la venganza o el sueño de sus vidas.

 

 

About the Director

MarcelRasquinMarcel Rasquin graduated from the Catholic University of Andres Bello (UCAB) in Caracas with a degree in Social Communication and from the Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne with a master’s degree in Filmmaking. After that he has been successfully working on numerous projects as production director and producer. Since 1997 he has become a part on the A&B Producciones team, where he has made a number of commercials and videos. Among his short works as the director are films EASIER RIDER, RING and HAPPY ENDINGS, which were shown and awarded at the festivals in Melbourne, Sydney, New York, Chicago, Karakas, Beijing etc. In 2005 the Australian Club of Critics praised Rasquin as the best young cineaste. BROTHER is Rasquin’s feature debut.
