Chile, Family and Personal Narrative Documentary, 201152 min, DigiBeta, ColorSpanish with English subtitles

Florida is a retired teacher that recently sold the place where she lived with her family for four decades. Her four daughters have grown and they have gone on to develop their own lives. Although they visit her quite a lot, the family house has become too big for her. Florida has surrounded herself with objects which are carefully stored in boxes getting ready for the move, all of which bring to mind moments that were lived there, and cause her to face memories while mourning her late husband, Coke. Over the course of five years, the documentary filmmaker followed the main character and her neighborhood's transformation. La mudanza, which has enjoyed successful presentations to date in Chile, is an emotional trip, a good bye ritual--like an epilogue, like a sunset and like an excuse to face the pending mourning.
