The son of Mexican communist militants, living with increasing disability, continues to promote socialism and the Cuban Revolution; identifying with the ideologies of Che Guevara and even resembling Che physically, he embraces the cause. Surprisingly, his disability is not the greatest challenge he will face in his life. Handicapped and discriminated against, Irina Layevska defies adversity and faces life with her true self supported on this journey by her lifelong partner, Nelida. A story of courage to live and love that has no gender, and leaves no audience unmoved. Morir de pie won Best Mexican Documentary, Guadalajara International Film Festival.
